Vol. 3 No. 1 (2025): Securing Kenya’s Future: Emerging Threats and Strategic Solutions for National and Regional Peace and Stability

This issue (Volume 3, Issue 1) focuses on the theme “Securing Kenya’s Future: Emerging Threats and Strategic Solutions for National and Regional Peace and Stability.” In these pages, contributors examine a wide range of pressing topics—from the link between regional integration and economic security within the East African Community to the effects of climate shocks on conflict dynamics in Laikipia County—painting a picture of security as an inherently cross-border, multi-sectoral challenge. The articles not only chart the problems but also propose practical, innovative responses: analyses of systemic inequities in pretrial justice; studies on the strategic implications of hybrid-warfare threats; assessments of health-system resilience with lessons drawn from Kenya’s COVID-19 response; and community-level research on how faith-based organisations can help address youth unemployment and curb radicalisation. Together, the pieces underline the need for integrated strategies—combining institutional reform, regional cooperation, and grassroots engagement—to build sustainable peace and resilience across Kenya and the wider region.
