This Volume 2, Issue 1 (2024) is dedicated to the theme “Safeguarding Cyberspace for National Security and Development.” The articles herein examine a broad array of subjects, including structural and institutional challenges facing collective security institutions in the Eastern Africa sub-region and prospects for durable peace; cyber threat intelligence strategies to combat banking fraud in Kenya; building robust national cybersecurity capacity; strengthening cyber resilience through adaptive security policies; the influence of data analytics on Kenya’s national security strategy formulation; the role of public–private partnerships in mitigating cybersecurity threats; technology development and cybercrime in Juja Sub-County; the rise of state-sponsored cyber-attacks and the case for international cooperation to bolster defence systems; and the socio-economic impact of terrorism on human security in the Horn of Africa, with a focus on North Eastern Kenya.
