Abstract

War for Peace gives a detailed and well-researched account of Kenya's military involvement in Somalia, following the Kenya Defence Forces from Operation Linda Nchi to its important role in AMISOM. The book looks at the mission from operational, political, and humanitarian points of view, pointing out both strategic successes and stories that are still being debated. It gives a rare look inside at what it's really like to fight terrorism and keep the peace. It is a very important resource for scholars, strategists, and practitioners who are interested in military transformation, regional stability, and the human cost of keeping national and regional security.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Author Biography

  • Dickens Rodrigues Wendo, National Defence University - Kenya

    Dickens Rodrigues Wendo is the current Deputy University Librarian at NDU-K. Currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Information Science at Moi University. He has a Master of Science in Information Science from Moi University, Kenya; a Master of Science in Organization Development from United States International University–Nairobi; and a Bachelor of Science in Information Science from Moi University. His research areas include Digital Librarianship, Digital Literacy, Knowledge Management, Organizational Development and Consulting; Transformational Leadership and Management of Change. Dickens has attended and presented at numerous conferences. He has published a number of papers in peer-reviewed Journals of Library and  Information Science.
